This page answers common questions about creating new tracking links, organized by topic. For the basics, see Understand Tracking Links and Create Tracking Links in the Airbridge Dashboard.
No. Airbridge tracking links don't collect events whose User Agent (browser.userAgent) contains the following strings:
"Slackbot", "datagnionbot", "PhantomJS", "LinkedInBot", "Googlebot", "AdsBot", "bingbot", "YandexBot", "YandexMobileBot", "BLEXBot", "PaperLiBot", "Twitterbot", "TelegramBot"
"Java/": used for Android SMS previews.
"GoogleImageProxy", "WhatsApp", "Yeti/", "AhrefsBot", "AhrefsSiteAudit", "Applebot", "PetalBot", "Pinterestbot", "Semanticbot", "SemrushBot", "SiteAuditBot", "SiteScoreBot", "SurdotlyBot", "Cincraw", "PTST/"
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0": used for Samsung SMS previews.
"http://naver.me/scrap", "https://naver.me/scrap", "facebookexternalhit", "Facebot", "Ads-Naver", "Discordbot", "SkypeUriPreview", "Yahoo Link Preview", "Yahoo Ad monitoring"
It depends on the type of tracking link. Tracking links for integrated channels have no character limit per parameter. Tracking links for custom channels allow up to 128 characters per parameter.
Yes. You can only use letters, numbers, and the special characters . - _
Some tracking links may not have the ad_type parameter. The default for a tracking link without ad_type is ad_type=click, so the touchpoint type is click.
For parameter types, see Tracking Link Parameters.
When you create a tracking link for an integrated channel on the [Link Generation] page, parameters such as Sub-Publisher and SubSub-Publisher 1 are added.
These parameters are pre-agreed between the channel and Airbridge to receive the values the channel provides. You can change them, but we recommend using them as is.
Yes. However, appending a campaign parameter has no effect: the campaign parameter value added to the original link through the short link isn't used anywhere, such as in reports.
Short link: https://abr.ge/ouocog
Long link: https://abr.ge/@your_app/channel?ad_creative=Jeans_Clothes&ad_group=2030_female&campaign=Summer_Sales&og_tag_id=103833519
If you append the campaign parameter campaign and a custom parameter added_params to the short link, the same parameters are added to the long link. The appended campaign=Spring_Sales isn't used anywhere, and the original value Summer_Sales is used instead.
When your Airbridge contract ends, the tracking links you created can no longer be used.
The Airbridge App mode you select when creating an app determines which redirect paths you can set for tracking links. Refer to the tables below for the paths available in each mode.
Production mode (apps released or soon to be released)
To set deep links, see Apply Deep Links to Tracking Links.
Development mode (testing, staging, or other apps not measuring performance)
Yes. Because a short link ID reflects the tracking link's settings, such as redirection and data collection, grouping by short link ID in reports can split the data for the same ID into before and after the reuse. The tracking link that previously used the short link ID also operates according to the new tracking link's settings.
If you don't add any UTM parameters to the web URL entered as the destination, Airbridge adds them automatically when redirecting users. This applies to the web URL for each platform and to the fallback web URL used when deep linking doesn't occur. If you added UTM parameters yourself, only those remain and no others are added.
Check whether you entered Korean in the Generator Template details. Naver Search Ads and Airbridge encode Korean differently, so Korean may not display correctly. To fix this, wrap Korean words in the ENCODEURL function, or use the copy button in the generator to copy the generated tracking link. For details, see the Naver Search Ads Help Center.
An error message appears when you click [Generate Tracking Links] without entering the App Name and Tracking Link API Token in [Required info]. Make sure these two values match the app name and Tracking Link API Token found in [Settings]>[Tokens] in the Airbridge dashboard.
Check the channel name entered in the Channel column of the custom channel template. Short link generation is supported for custom channels only. If you enter an integrated channel available in [Integrations]>[Ad Channel Integration], short links aren't generated.
If you delete a column in the Generator Template, tracking links can't be generated properly. If you have many unused columns, we recommend hiding them with [Hide columns].
You can't enter values in the gray cells in [Change parameters]. To enter a new parameter value, first delete the existing tracking link in [Create Tracking Links], then create it again with the new value. The change is then reflected automatically in [Change parameters].
Yes. However, a tracking link deleted in [Link Management] keeps working normally; it's removed from the [Link Management] list only.
Yes. In Development mode, a user with the app Owner role can delete them. Click Delete all tracking links at the bottom of [Settings]>[App Settings] to permanently delete every tracking link created for the app. This can't be undone.
Airbridge caches the previous path, so it can take up to 10 minutes for the edited path to apply. Check again after about 10 minutes.
