Learn about the functions, structure, and types of Airbridge tracking links to make the most of them.
Tracking links start working when users view or click ads or content. They collect touchpoints and campaign data for performance measurement, and send users to the destination set in the Airbridge dashboard.
See below for the flow of creating tracking links and sharing them with ad channels.
Create a tracking link in the Airbridge dashboard.
Share the tracking link with your ad channel. Register it directly as a final URL in the ad channel’s dashboard or provide it to your ad channel contact. See our articles on each ad channel for details.
Run your ads on the ad channel with the tracking link.
When users view or click the ads, the tracking link collects data and sends users to the destination set in the Airbridge dashboard.
Analyze the collected data using Airbridge reports, raw data exports, and more.
A tracking link consists of a domain, app name, channel name, and parameters. The domain is abr.ge. app_name is your app's name as registered in Airbridge, and channel_name is the name of the ad channel where the tracking link is used. The parameters get filled with data such as campaign name, ad group, ad creative, and keywords, as well as destination information. For more details on tracking link parameters, see this article.
Tracking link structure example
https://abr.ge/@app_name/channel_name?parameter1_name={parameter1_value}¶meter2_name={parameter2_value}¶meter3_name={parameter3_value}
In a tracking link, the domain, app name, and channel name appear in a predefined format before the question mark (?), and the parameters come after the question mark.
There are two types of tracking links based on the channel type. Integrated channel tracking links and custom channel tracking links.
Integrated channel tracking links are tracking links for ad channels already integrated with Airbridge. Each integrated ad channel has its own predefined link structure and fills data into the parameter values accordingly. See the example below.
Example
https://abr.ge/@app_name/channel_name?campaign=Spring_Promotion&campaign_id={channel_campaign_id}&click_id={payload_enc}&content=Yellow_Roses&gaid_raw={aaid}&ifa_raw={idfa}&routing_short_id=f50t4l&tracking_template_id=2c978bbd51cf19cfa13053523bfac60c&user_agent={user_agent_enc}&ad_type=click
Custom channel tracking links are tracking links for owned media, earned media, and ad channels not integrated with Airbridge. Short links and QR codes are also available. You can use custom domains instead of abr.ge and customize social share previews, including images, titles, and descriptions that appear when the links are shared.
