SKAN Authentication

Prerequisites

  • Your app must be registered with Airbridge.

  • You must have an App Store Connect account with the Admin role.

To run SKAdNetwork (SKAN) campaigns for your iOS app, authenticate the app with the Apple App Store after you register it with Airbridge. Enter the authentication details from App Store Connect in the Airbridge dashboard.

Whether you need iOS app authentication depends on whether you run SKAN campaigns:

  • If you run SKAN campaigns, authenticate your iOS app.

  • If you don't run SKAN campaigns, you don't need authentication, even for apps you run on iOS. This includes apps in development and apps used for testing.

Attention

To view iOS ad performance through SKAN in the Airbridge dashboard, you must complete App Store authentication for the app you registered with Airbridge.

For the full setup required to measure iOS app install campaigns with SKAN, see the SKAN conversion value setup guide.

Create an API key in App Store Connect

Attention

You can download the API key only once and cannot download it again. If you lose it or cannot find the file, create a new API key.

  1. In App Store Connect, go to [Users and Access].

  2. Click the [Integrations] tab.

  3. In the left menu, click [App Store Connect API].

  4. Next to [Active], click +.

  5. A pop-up for creating the API key appears. Enter a name for the API key, set the access to App Manager, and click Generate. After creation, you can find the Key ID in the active list.

  6. Find the API key you created, and click Download API Key.

  7. Click Download. The file downloads. Its name starts with AuthKey_ and has the .p8 extension, and this file is your Private Key.

Enter authentication details in the Airbridge dashboard

In App Store Connect, find the following authentication details:

  • Issuer ID

  • Key ID

  • Private Key

Enter these details in [Settings]>[App Settings].

  1. In the Airbridge dashboard, go to [Settings]>[App Settings], open the [App Info] tab, and click Need Authentication for iOS under platforms. Or click the [App Auth] tab.

  2. Enter the authentication details from App Store Connect. Enter the Issuer ID and Key ID, and upload the downloaded file as the Private Key.

  3. After authentication, the App Authenticated tag appears in the Airbridge dashboard.

Delete authentication details

In the Airbridge dashboard, go to [Settings]>[App Settings], open the [App Auth] tab, and click Delete the Authentication in the top right corner to remove the details. After you delete the authentication details, iOS ad performance measurement through SKAN stops. To measure performance again, repeat the authentication process starting from the Create an API key in App Store Connect section.
